The Mindful Writer Group meets on:

Fridays at 9:30am PST

Suggested donation: $5

The Mindful Writers Group differs from the other groups in two important ways.

  • First - it is an hour in length.

  • Second - instead of an introductory dharma talk, this group opens with a 10 minute guided meditation and then transitions immediately into a 45 minute writing session.

At 10:30, we can talk about what we're working on, network, and encourage each other to keep going (or, if you're on a roll, you can just log off and keep writing).

Things to know:

  • These are not critique groups.

  • We bring projects in progress or journals to let our thoughts flow.

  • While we don't read our work out loud in the groups, participants are encouraged to support each other outside of our weekly sits.

  • You don't need to have any experience meditating. All religions are welcome. We simply practice mindfulness as a way to focus our minds before writing.
